Workshops:Titles & Details
Make a Transformative Impact on Your Church: The Basics of Legacy Giving:
The average gift to a church or charity through someone's estate is about $70,000. The problem is, most people never consider making such a gift (or are never asked to do so!) In this session we will go over the basic ways that individuals and families can make these gifts to their Church, some that even provide family tax benefits. And we will discuss strategies that may encourage more people to support their church community through legacy giving.
LGBTQIA+ Asylum is a Human Right:
This Convention Workshop looks at a way on how Individuals, Congregations and/or Diocese can support other church-wide ministries such as the Rainbow Initiative with the Episcopal Migration Ministries.
Gather to Grow Beloved Community:
How do you meet the challenge of creating and growing Beloved Community? What are the barriers? What are the rewards? What does it mean to be reconcilers, healers and justice-bearers? Join us for a series of discussions focused on action and collaboration.
Planting Seeds to Grow New Ministry - Serving Those That Served:
In this workshop, we will explore creative ways of starting a veteran or military ministry at your church & or wider community. As every community has different needs & resources, there is no "one size fits all" for veteran ministry. Thus we will explore various types of veteran & military ministries. We will hear from parishioners who have started successful & fruitful veteran ministries, listen to their tips & wisdom for growing a veteran / military ministry, and much more!
Gates and Gateways:
This workshop features life stories from formerly incarcerated women to shift the paradigm from "What's wrong with you? to What happened to you? You will witness both barriers and opportunities that surround the incarcerated population and be inspired to Go, Gather, Grow, Give to support and empower these women to be the best they can be.
It's All About Culture:
Saint Barnabas’ core culture has been formed by “We’re about Jesus” with emphases on faith formation, contemplative spirituality, listening, member-centric church, and more. “Member-centric church”? For us, it equals Go, Gather, Grow, and Give.
