2023 MCA/MPPOA Fall Conference Registration

Please join us for the 2023 MCA/MPPOA Fall Conference...Making a Difference!

NOTE:  To receive the conference room rates, hotel reservations must be made by 9/08/23.  We will be back again this year at the beautiful Lodge of the Four Seasons.  Reserve rooms for just $113 a night in Seasons Bay and for $133 a night in the main building.  To make your room reservations at the Lodge call toll free number 888-265-5500.  The best time frame to do this is Monday-Friday between 8:00-4:00.  To get these rates you must tell them it is for the MCA/MPPOA Fall Conference.  Cancellations can be made up to 7 days prior to the arrival date.  By the way...the rooms tend to fill up fast, so please make your reservations as early as possible to avoid having to stay off site at another hotel. 

Activities for Wednesday are as follows:

• The conference registration table will be open from 8:00-3:00.  
• Conference Orientation:  9:00-9:30 a.m.
• Sessions for training credit will be offered all day Wednesday, starting at 10:00 a.m.
• FATS training will run from 9:00 - 4:00 on Wednesday and 10:15-4:45 Thursday.
• Crime Scene competition:  Sign up your team of 3 for a specific time slot between 9:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, 9/20/23 by contacting Scott Chenault at Chenault@ucmo.edu.  You can also sign up at the registration desk on Wednesday.
• There will not be any meals provided on Wednesday, but time is scheduled for lunch with enough time to leave the grounds if desired.  There are also restaurants available at the Lodge that provide lunch services.
• Back by popular demand starting at 2:00 on Wednesday...Exhibitor Reception with food, beverages and entertainment!  
• 3:00-4:00 p.m. on Wednesday afternoon--K9 demonstration by Guarded Exchange.
• 5:00-6:00 p.m. on Wednesday evening...BINGO night!

Thursday:

• 9:00-10:00  MO Sheriff's Association
• 10:15-11:30  Breakouts (Suicide Prevention, Women's CSC)
• Lunch
• 1:15-2:30 Breakouts (Suicide Prevention, Women's CSC, Hostage Negotiation)
• 2:30-3:15 Sudent Poster Session
• 3:30-4:45 Breakouts (Hostage Negotiation, Line of Duty Death, Professional Honors and Special Support)
• 6:00-8:00 Boat Cruise Activity

Friday:

• Breakfast
• 9:30-10:30  Vicarious Trauma Part 1
• 10:30-11:15 Hotel Check Out
• 11:15-12:15 Vicarious Trauma Part 2
• 12:15-1:00 Closing

The Department of Corrections and Missouri Credentialing Board have approved the training for 11 hours of continuing education/training.

Exhibitors are currently getting registered and you will want to stop by all the awesome exhibitor booths to play Exhibitor BINGO and be eligible for prizes.  And if that isn't enough, we are also planning a Silent Auction, a student poster session, and LOTS of great door prizes!

Meals:  The following meals will be provided at the conference--Thursday:  breakfast,lunch, and afternoon snack; Friday:  breakfast.
