   Dr. Hill, therapist and founder of SensoryWorks, has worked for seven years in         the field of mental health as an occupational therapist, and over nine years in             sensory processing. Her diverse background includes working in school-based           settings‚ sensory integration clinics/private practices‚ hospital setting with                   complex medical conditions‚ mental health clinics for children‚ residential                   treatment centers for adolescents‚ and residential treatment centers for
   substance abuse rehabilitation.
   In this training participants will learn how our senses impact self-regulation and    how they can be used as tools to help calm or alert the brain and body. Sensorimotor strategies can be used to organize the brain and there are many ways to use them with your clients/patients
beyond sensory rooms.

Learner Objectives

 By the end of this event the learner will be able to:  

  1. Name the 8 senses
  2. List 3 strategies for alerting the brain and body
  3. List 3 strategies for calming the brain and body
  4. Know the difference between a sensory diet and sensory toolkit

1.5 CEU's will be awarded to social workers, counselors, and marriage and family therapists at no charge upon completion of the training, comprehension quiz and evaluation. Please contact your board for specifics on requirements for your license or certification.
