Join us for this relevant and unique educational event -- it's more than information,
this is training to enhance another important awareness skill!
This virtual workshop starts with training including the assessment and diagnosis, effective communication strategies, and management and care planning of individuals with Alzheimer's disease and other dementias. Then this workshop offers a holistic perspective of the brain for PT/OT patient care. By seeing structural changes in the brain, clinicians have a greater appreciation for functional impairments and behavior. The role of inflammation, exercise, and medications relevant to the brain are highlighted in this workshop as key considerations in our selection and progression of therapeutic interventions.
Dementia Training Topics
- Assessment and diagnosis of Alzheimer's disease and other dementias
- Effective communication strategies with diagnosed individuals and caregivers
- Management and care planning relevant to PT/OT practice settings for individuals diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease and other dementias
