Arizona Field Ornithologists

2023 Annual Meeting

Payson, Arizona

 September 15-17, 2023

Don't miss out on the exciting opportunity to join us in Payson for an unforgettable experience! Our scientific paper presentations and AZFO reports provide an excellent chance to stay up-to-date with the latest research on Arizona birds. You will get the chance to meet other birders, challenge yourself with bird identification quizzes, and enjoy networking opportunities. There will also be a raffle, book sale, silent auction, and announcements for the Gale Monson awardee and youth scholarship recipients. Don't forget about the mini-field expeditions and social events to add to the fun!

On Saturday evening, we will be welcoming John A. Moretti, a paleontologist who studies the diversity and distribution patterns of vertebrates over the past 3-5 million years, with a particular focus on the Quaternary period and the natural history of existing species and their associated communities, including Thick-billed Parrots in Arizona. John will present his research on the natural history of Thick-billed Parrots in Arizona.

On Sunday, our mini-expeditions and Pinyon Jay workshop offer an immersive educational experience. You will learn about the status, biology, and habitats of these birds, as well as how to use the Survey123 mobile app to collect location data.

Don't wait - register online now before it's too late! Join us for a weekend of birding, learning, and making new connections. We can't wait to see you there!
