In this full day workshop we will identify the challenges we experience as group leaders when suicidal ideation and other dark thoughts enter our group context. Together we will learn basic concepts, skills and strategies to guide our leadership and assist members in identifying and employing skills for safer living.
Learning Objectives
In this training participants will:
1. Learn ways of talking about suicide-related thoughts and behaviours with clients.
2. Be introduced to a framework of understanding suicide-related thoughts and behaviours.
3. Learn a series of skills and strategies to assist clients in keeping themselves safer.
4. Work through the elements of a Safety Plan
