Rings and Things with
Rosalind Darielle
In the Rings and Things class, participants will explore the art of wire wrapping to create beautiful rings and earrings that can be matched with beads. This hands-on class is designed to introduce basic wire wrapping techniques and provide participants with the skills to create their own unique wire wrapped jewelry pieces.
During the class, you will learn how to work with different gauges of wire, including 18-gauge, 20-gauge, and 22-gauge. These wires will be used to create the framework and decorative elements of the rings and earrings. You will also have the opportunity to choose beads of your preference, such as 6mm or 8mm beads, or a combination of both, to incorporate into your designs.
To bring your creations to life, you will need a spool of each 18-gauge, 20-gauge, and 22-gauge, a set of jewelry tools, including round nose pliers, chain nose pliers, cutters, precision cutters, nylon nose pliers, a ring sizer, and a ring mandrel. These tools will enable you to manipulate the wire, shape it into intricate designs, and secure the beads in place. Need materials and or tools? The instructor will have kits available for purchase, just bring your favorite beads.
This class is suitable for beginners who have a basic knowledge of how to use jewelry-making tools. Whether you are new to wire wrapping or have some prior experience, this class will provide you with the foundational skills necessary to create your own wire wrapped rings and earrings.
By the end of the class, you will have gained confidence in wire wrapping techniques and will have completed a set of unique wire wrapped jewelry pieces that you can proudly wear or gift to others.
