Back to Schools with Oral Health!

First Stop Lebanon, NH.

A Statewide Road Trip to Preserve and Strengthen

NH School-based Oral Health Programs.

We need YOU to join the conversation!

Did you know that over 50% of kids ages 12 to 19 have untreated dental decay?  For kids ages 1 to 5, it is 25%.  Depending on age, a classroom of 25 students, may have 6 to 12 kids with untreated decay.  Many experience pain that impacts their learning and extends into their behavior within the classroom.

Does your community provide school-based oral health prevention?  About half of NH public schools do.  Decay is preventable and schools are an easy and inexpensive location to provide care.  This keeps kids in schools and parents at work.

What is the Road Trip?  The Road Trip is a statewide series of listening and learning sessions held through collaboration with communities about the who, what, when, where, and why of school-based oral health and preventive dental services.

Who should participate?  Educators, principals, school nurses, medical and dental providers, human service and social workers, community health workers, community leaders including mayors, selectpersons, town welfare officers, local civic groups, public health leaders, and others.  We'll save you a seat!

This Road Trip will stop at 6 locations through the state.  Each session contains a learning module plus a discussion component on local programs, services, current school-based oral health programs, and visions for your communities.  #1Lebanon, #2 Keene, #3 Littleton, #4 Portsmouth, #5 TBD, and #6 Concord.  You can attend as many sessions as you wish.  Each will emphasize different content.

The information gathered at each session will be summarized and brought forward to the next location.  Our goal is to develop a vision, identify opportunity, and establish the will for an effective, cost-conscious, evidence-based core of services that is sustainable and easily access within communities.

Your input matters!  Register today for the LIttleton Stop and watch for future registration announcements.

We'll Save you a Seat!

Our thanks to Northeast Delta Dental for their support of the Road Trip and the advancement of oral health in NH.
