Nyungne Retreat with Ven. Lama Kelsang September 22nd 7pm - September 25th 9:30am EDT

About Nuyungne:

Nyungne is a profound purification practice, a length of time, 2+ days, is especially helpful for people whose schedules cannot accommodate long-term retreat. It involves prostrations and the keeping of strict vows; the second day, Sunday, is devoted to complete silence and fasting of water as well as food.. The meditation centers on the recitations, mantras, and guided visualizations of the Thousand-Armed Chenrezig, the embodiment of all the buddhas’ loving-kindness and compassion. Translated as “abiding in the fast,” Nyungne is said to be effective in the healing of illness, the nurturing of compassion, and the purification of negative karma.

FOR SPECIAL MEDICAL CONCERNS:

Lama Kelsang tells us some "Soup" i.e. light broth may be taken as well as medications if necessary.

ATTENDENCE:
Lama asks that if you are local to please make a special effort to attend this retreat in person if possible. To accommodate the needs of students who feel they can keep the requirements of the practice of fasting and silence (with modifications for medical need) Lama Kelsang has agreed to allow registrants to participate via live stream.  The link for this will be provided a few days prior to the retreat.
