Today’s Non-Profit Board Challenges – What do you need to know? Learn how to be a part of a successful board. Become a leader in understanding board governance for your organization. This learning opportunity is open to Board Chairs, Board Directors/Board Members and Executive Directors/Property Managers.

This workshop was designed specifically for Non-Profit Housing Boards in Manitoba and will address relevant challenges including:

    The roles and responsibilities of board directors at a non-profit housing organization?
    What skills board directors need to meet today’s challenges of governing a non-profit?
    What does fiduciary duty mean to you as a board director?
    How recently have your bylaws been reviewed and updated?
    What processes and practices are in place for the organization’s board meetings to run smoothly and efficiently?
    What is an in-camera meeting and when do we use it?
    How do we recruit new board members?
    What does a Governance Committee do?
    Do you know and understand the role of the Board and the role of the Executive Director/Property Manager working together as a team?
