Teen Services Essentials - Daytona Beach (02/29/24)

Looking for ways to better serve the teens in your community? Explore the wonderful world of teen services!

Do you need some help in working with your library's Teens? Join library veterans Amber Holley and Elizabeth McConney in this day-long workshop. They will show you how to best work with established library standards. Gain knowledge on what Teens are reading, what programs bring them into the building and how to keep them coming back!

Participants will learn useful tips and techniques for working with young adults. We will review adolescent developmental needs and life experiences. We will discuss best practices for interacting with teens and how librarians can support the 40 developmental assets. We will explore what's trending in teen publishing, collection development, and readers advisory strategies as well as advocacy for teens.
