Building a Network of Women in the Skilled UnionTrades
Massachusetts Girls in Trades invites Junior Year female students interested in careers related to the construction industry (Construction, Automotive, Horticulture, Engineering, etc.), and undecided or uncommitted Senior Year females, as well as their teachers and guidance counselors, to attend a conference for women seeking career opportunities in the union construction trades. This event is November 16, 2023 from 9-12:30pm, at Dean Technical High School, 1045 Main St, Holyoke, MA. We are very excited to meet in person so please join us and bring your Junior and undecided or uncommitted Senior female students who are interested in union construction careers. Learn while you work - Registered Apprenticeship as a viable pathway to the union construction trades.
The conference will provide an overview of opportunities, educational workshops and support for young women to continue a career pathway in skilled trades. Participants will engage with apprenticeship training programs, meet tradeswomen working in the field, and learn how high school women in trades programs can leverage the uptick in building projects. The Career Fair portion will include opportunities for networking with trade unions as well as community and student organizations, which will further assist participants seeking a career pathway in skilled trades. Lunch will be provided.
