Manual Therapy and

Exercise, Activity, and Movement

A unique, new 2 day CE event

 Friday, October 13, 2023 and Saturday, October 14, 2023

On-site attendance = Live credit!

As much as we love virtual CE, we know hands-on training is so very valuable in our PT/OT professions. So since being a leader means you have to go first, we are bringing back an old fashioned 2 day CE event -- all hands-on, in our clinic, with snacks and beverages!

A small group lab format and 2 instructors will facilitate an optimal learning experience.

All topics incorporate pre- and post-treatment assessments

so you can experience then apply these

effective, efficient "treatment pearls" to patient care immediately. 

Topics and techniques include:

Manual therapy (MT) to address impaired posture, UQ and LQ pain, headaches, optimal breathing pattern, balance, hip and knee joint ROM, and more! 
  • Craniofacial techniques --- Multiple 1st rib mobilizations --- Dorsal soft tissue and rib cage mobilization sequence --- Diaphragm stretch --- Hip and knee joint mobilization --- Active mobilization to dysfunctional contractile tissues --- Circumferential soft tissue mobilization --- Multiple iliotibial band mobilizations --- Joint and soft tissue sequence for the foot 
Exercise, activity, and movement (EAM) to sustain gains made with manual therapy above plus prescribe home exercise programs including self-care will be focused. Low tech, inexpensive props that are accessible to most patients with be utilized. Functional movements and muscle mobility will be emphasized in this eclectic approach.

Objectives:

By the completion of this course, participants will be able to correctly:

1.  Interpret examination and reassessment tests, measurements, and observations to identify physical and functional changes related to interventions performed.

2.  Apply new and or refresher manual therapy techniques to clinical practice.

3.  Identify appropriate exercises, activities, and movements that effectively and efficiently support manual therapy techniques as presented.

Instruction level: Various  ***  14.0 CE contact hours (IL).
