Greater Tampa Section ITE High School Speech Contest

Transportation Speech Topic: "Impact of Transportation Facilities on Environment"

Rules:

•The contestant must be a resident of the Greater Tampa area (including counties: Charlotte, Citrus, Collier Desoto, Hardee, Hernando, Hillsborough, Lee, Manatee,Monroe, Pasco, Pinellas, Polk, and Sarasota).

• The contest is open to any high school student in who is enrolled for the academic year 2023-2024.

• Contestants must display a positive attitude and present content that is not negative about the Institute of Transportation Engineers or its policies.

• The contestant must prepare and present the speech in person. No pre-recorded video will be permitted.

• The contestant is not permitted to use any visual aids such as a PowerPoint presentation or poster.

• Speeches must be five minutes (+/- 30 seconds) in length. Speeches not meeting this rule will face point deductions.

• The contestant may be accompanied by parent(s), guardian(s), and/or teacher(s).

• Judges may ask questions at the competition, but will not exceed three minutes per contestant.
