About Our Chapter

The Greater Omaha Chapter of AFCEA is a non-profit membership association dedicated to providing an ethical, interactive forum for sharing knowledge and building relationships across Government, military, industry, and academia.

Our Chapter, over 250 members strong, focuses primarily on enabling communications, electronics, and information systems missions of today and tomorrow through education and investment in talented people and support of future leaders in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM).  Each year, proceeds from our Chapter Sponsors and Chapter events help us to make awards to qualified students and teachers through scholarships and grants.


Holiday Mixer

Our annual Holiday Mixer is the chapter's way of giving back to our program/luncheon sponsors as well as to the membership and chapter supporters.  Because we are a non-profit organization, we're still willing to accept donations to help supplement the Mixer with the full intent of providing recognition to those organizations that rise to the occasion.  You will have our gratitude.


STEM Grants  

Our organization has a long-standing tradition of providing STEM Grants to worthwhile STEM related teaching initiatives within Eastern Nebraska/Western Iowa.  The Holiday Mixer is the forum where we recognize these awards.  These grants are awarded to middle and high school STEM teachers to be used for supplies and/or equipment to enhance learning in the classroom.  Educators may be nominated or self-nominated to compete for this award.  The most favorable submissions are those that communicate clearly defined learning objectives that will extend to the greatest number of students.


Toys for Tots  

If you're participating in our Toys for Tots program, it is not necessary to pre-wrap your gift.  Just bring as is for the drop-off.  If you've already pre-wrapped the gift, please indicate whether they toy is for a boy or girl.  Thank you!
