We know that networking is important to building professional relationships and facilitating the exchange of ideas. But how in the world is it done?!

Join Alex Barr of the St. Johns County Public Library System to learn how to meet people, create connections, and build meaningful partnerships throughout your community. Some of the organizations she has worked with include:

  • St. Johns Cultural Council
  • Flagler Health (/UF Health St. Johns)
  • Operation New Hope (re-entry program for inmates)
  • Council on Aging
  • Early Steps

Learn how to cultivate relationaships with these and other types of organizations that can help your library help your community! We're stronger together!

Virtual Trainer: Alexandra Barr

Alexandra Barr is the new Community Outreach Manager for the St. Johns County Public Library System. In her former life, she was a Youth Services Librarian for almost ten years. Her very favorite things were programming and outreach, which she loves to share with the library world! She’s previously presented at NEFLIN conferences, FLA, ALA, schools, and professional development workshops. Alex is a native Floridian that currently lives in St. Augustine with her three wild boys.

This is an online class. Access information will be emailed one week ahead.

Cost: NEFLIN classes are free of charge for Florida library staff. Registration is required for all classes and NEFLIN members get priority.

This project was funded either under the provisions of the Library Services and Technology Act from the Institute of Museum and Library Services or the Library Cooperative Grant program. Florida’s LSTA and LCG programs are administered by the Department of State’s Division of Library and Information Services.

For FY2023-24, the total state and federal budgets for NEFLIN's programs are $694,693. 42% of the total costs ($294,693) are supported by federal funds, and 58% of this program ($400,000) is supported by state funds.
