The modules listed below make up the 36 hours of course work required for the “Fundamentals” certification. Certificates are awarded upon completion of all 36 class hours AND passing of the Fundamentals Certification Exam.

• Legal Aspects of Code Enforcement (8 hours)
• Ethics (4 hours)
• Verbal Communication Skills (2 hours)
• Report Writing (2 hours)

 

Exam Requirements
February 23, 2024 | 1:00pm-3:00pm (CT)

After attending the required 36 hours of classes, Code Enforcement officers must successfully pass an examination in order to receive certification in “Fundamentals of Code Enforcement.”

Hotel Information

A small block of hotel rooms has been reserved at the Homewood Suites by Hilton Destin, 14051 Emerald Coast Parkway Destin, FL 32541, with a special room rate of $109 per night for code officers. Officers can use the link below to make their reservations online or call the hotel directly at 850-269-8100 and speak to one of the front desk agents by remaining on the line after the options are given. The code "COT" is required to book at the special group rate. The cutoff date to reserve your room is Thursday, January 18, 2024 or until the room block is sold out – so book early!! (The hotel is also offering pre and post training dates at the special rate so make sure you select only the dates you need when reserving your room.)

 

Additional Information

REGISTRATION: You will be registering and paying for the class and the exam at the same time. AFTER you submit your registration form, you will receive an auto-generated email with a secure credit card payment link embedded within. After you click on the secure payment link, go to Certifications > FACE Certifications > and under Items, select the correct class. Registrations are confirmed only after payment is received which must be prior to the payment deadline of Friday, February 2, 2024.

REFRESHMENTS: Coffee will be provided in the morning but refreshments and lunch are on your own each day.

CONFIRMATION OF REGISTRATION: You will receive a confirmation letter from the IOG at FSU upon registration and payment of CLASS & EXAM fees.

IMPORTANT POLICY NOTE: No person may attend F.A.C.E. training or take an exam if approved payment has not been made prior to the registration deadline.

REFUNDS: Must be requested in writing and received no later than the registration and payment deadline of February 2, 2024. Fees will be refunded less a $75.00 administrative charge. All monies are forfeited beyond this date. Non-attendance does not constitute a withdrawal or refund request.
