Introduction to Beekeeping

It's here! The Sussex County Beekeepers Association (SCBA) Introduction to Beekeeping course.

What's included in your registration?

• Two full days of beekeeping instruction from New Jersey's most experienced and successful beekeepers (Saturday, January 20th and Saturday, January 27th)
• A third day of instruction in April will be held at the SCBA apiary at the Walkill River National Refuge for live demonstrations and hands-on experience
• The Backyard Beekeeper, 4th edition, by Kim Flottum, et al, an essential resource for the beginning beekeeper
• 1st year membership in the New Jersey Beekeepers Association (NJBA) and the Sussex County Beekeepers Association (SCBA)
• NJBA Annual Beekeeping calendar full of helpful information to help new beeks
• Copies of all presentations
• Continental breakfast and lunch

Make it a family affair! Add 1 additional registrant for $65 with each full registration ($110).*

There are a limited number of scholarships available for high school and college students as well as veterans. To apply, please email us at SCBA.School@gmail.com and tell us why you want to become a beekeeper.

Classes fill up quickly so register today! (Please note that your registration will not be complete until payment is received.)

Make sure to mark the snow date (February 10th, 2024) on your calendar just in case!

* Please note: To qualify for family rate registrant and guest must reside at the same addtress. Each full registration will receive the 1 (one) copy of the Backyard Beekeeper, presentation copies NJBA/SCBA membership and 2024 Beekeeper's Calendar. The guest of the registrant will receive presentation copies only.
