QuickBooks Online for Farms - Intermediate

SCORE Maine and University of Maine Cooperative Extension are pleased to offer this QuickBooks Online  intermediate workshop series tailored to small farms and agriculture businesses. QuickBooks information can help you manage your farm business which is the primary reason for capturing transaction data in QuickBooks.

This important accounting program can help with your invoicing, tracking sales and expenses, handling your bookkeeping requirements for tax preparation and more. QuickBooks will let you sync your data across your computer, tablet and smart phone mobile devices when you need it.

This is a hands-on workshop so you need an internet enabled device to follow along.  You will need to use both  Zoom and your web browser to access the QB test drive at the same time, so using a smart phone will be more challenging to toggle between the two because of the small screen.

Here are the specific objectives of each evening’s session:

Objectives- Part I. Enterprise Results (March 4th)

  • Using class tracking in Quickbooks
  • Establishing classes
  • Recording revenue by class
  • Recording expenses by class
  • Handling expenses that relate to multiple classes
  • Dealing with transactions that were entered without a class designation
  • Generating reports by enterprise
  • Utilizing the P&L by enterprize for decision making

Objectives- Part II. Using P&L Reports (March 11th)

  • Entering budget information in QuickBooks
