Meeting Information

Our next Genealogy Interest Group meeting will take place on Wednesday, March 13th, from 10:30 - 11:30 am.

Our topics for this meeting include a review of RootsTech, as well as introductions of group members and our new facilitator, Kristi Dorney, and a discussion of future topics.

We look forward to seeing you!

Interest Group Facilitator:  Kristi Dorney

Kristi has a BS in Social Studies Education and a MLIS from Florida State University. She worked in public school media centers before joining the Jacksonville Public Library in July 2000. She has a background in youth services, adult services and branch management. She transferred to the Special Collections Department in August 2022 to be the Genealogy specialist. Kristi is a member of the National Genealogical Society, New England Historic Genealogical Society, Florida Genealogical Society, and The Irish Ancestral Research Association (TIARA). She began her family tree in the mid 1980’s when she and her mother visited the University of Florida Library to view the 1850 census of her Great-Great Grandparents. She has worked on it off and on ever since and still has those darn brick walls! Kristi has traveled to several states and Ireland to work on her family tree. One day she hopes to visit the Family History Library in Salt Lake City. She enjoys helping others begin researching their family trees.
