Reduce Stress, Rediscover Well-being: Learn to Meditate!

4-week Class Series:  Thursday, October 15, 22, 29, and November 5, 2015.  All Classes begin at 7:00 PM and end at 9:00 PM each Thursday evening.  No drop-ins after class #2 (October 22).

High Resolution

This four-week class series will offer the basics of insight meditation, the practice taught by the Buddha as part of his “Middle Way,” the path to freedom from suffering.  The aim of insight meditation is to develop a non-reactive, steady attention that allows us to clearly observe our inner experience, which in turn leads to a transformative understanding of emotional pain and distress.  Recent studies have confirmed what meditators have known for centuries: that meditation leading to insight can release long-standing patterns of mental and physical stress, allowing our natural joy and ease to emerge, heal, and enrich our lives.

This class will offer detailed instructions, group meditation practice, discussion of the benefits and challenges of practice, and plenty of time for questions. The class is appropriate for interested newcomers as well as more experienced folks who’d like a refresher.  Drop-ins welcome up to class #2 (Oct. 22).
