Fall 2012 Introduction to Colloquial Levantine Arabic

This class will focus on the spoken Arabic of Lebanon, Syria, Palestine and Jordan. Colloquial Arabic is used in daily communication between people in the Arab world. Rooted in classical Arabic, it is simplified for daily use and infiltrated by non-Arabic worlds depending on the geographical location, external cultural and linguistic influences.
