What's Next After Moore's Law: Quantum Computing

As microelectronics technology nears the end of its exponential growth characterized by Moore's law, there is renewed interest in new computing paradigms. Dr. Martinis will discuss recent research at UCSB on superconducting quantum bits, along with the recent founding of a Google lab in Goleta aimed at building a useful quantum computer.
