Parvaneh Bahar was born in Tehran, Iran in 1928, the fourth of six children in the family of the great poet, Malek o’Shoara Bahar. Parvaneh has lived all over the world and spent her adult life championing women and democracy. She marched with Martin Luther King, Jr., was at the genesis of the Women's Political Caucus in Washington.
