George Remus: King of the Bootleggers

George Remus, originally a pharmacist and later a lawyer is known as the King of the Bootleggers. He used his knowledge of pharmacy and law to circumvent the Volstead Act to buy distilleries that had gone out of business due to prohibition, on the pretext of selling it for "medical purposes"
