American Gypsy: Growing Up As A Roma In The Former USSR

Oksana Marafioti is author of "American Gypsy: A Memoir", a vivid and humorous account of growing up Gypsy in the Soviet Union. For Oksana, this meant touring with her family of well-known Gypsy musicians and dancers from the Baltic Sea to the Siberian Tundra. It also meant enduring discrimination by Soviet society.
