At the end of the 19th century, over 2 million Eastern European Jews arrived on the shores of America. They were faced with the challenge of adapting their lives and their Judaism to America and to the uniquely American culture. We will explore this process of adaption and adoption. Was it successful? How did it shape modern American Judaism?
