Why #ASL G-L-O-S-S? A 4-Part Series

While deaf people are bilinguals, they read and write in English. Since ASL is a three dimensional language in constant motion, it is not easy to translate into a written system. Additionally, ASL grammar is conveyed mostly through non-manual signals. These challenges mean glossing is used only as a tool to transcribe and analyze.
