Up from Aunt Jemimaism: Tales from the Dorsey Plot at Grove Cemetery Trumansburg

Join us at Grove Cemetery's chapel. Town of Ulysses historian John Wertis will introduce Riche Richardson's book, "Emancipation's Daughters" and the concepts of Mammyism/Aunt Jemimaism. He’ll refer to individual burials to tell the story of the Dorsey Family and how each successive generation of women made steps away from negative stereotyping.
