Alternatives for Families: A Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (AF-CBT)
AF-CBT (Kolko, Brown et al., 2011) is an evidence-based treatment that works with families with high levels of conflict, including verbal aggression and harsh physical discipline. The goal of AF-CBT is to improve caregiver-child relationships, strengthen healthy parenting practices, and enhance children’s coping and communication skills.
