Varieties of Adoptive Experience

This lecture and discussion focuses upon some of the ways in which "adoption" makes an appearance in clinical practice. On the one hand, I argue that there is no such thing as an adopted child; on the other hand that adoption highlights some of the ambivalences common to all human relationships.
