Earl Warren in the Civil Rights Era

Earl Warren, Kern County High School Class of 1908, presided over the landmark 1954 Supreme Court case to end segregation of children in public schools. The emphasis is to discuss the local backlash Earl Warren faced in Kern County. The talk will frame a local to a national context, and covering anti-Communism and anti-Civil Rights rhetoric.
