Common causes of hemoperitoneum and clinical signs to help identify and active bleed. Definitive diagnosis of hemoperitoneum can be made by abdominocentesis or diagnostic peritoneal lavage. Proper staging be performed prior to any attempt at surgical management. Common emergency medical and surgical procedures that are performed.
