In Collaboration with SEEPP, The Children's Museum of Greater Fall River Inc. is offering a Professional Learning Community for eduactors in Region 5.
"Passport to Kindergarten"
The Children’s Museum of Greater Fall River is offering four PLCs that center around the topics of STEM, Brain Building in Progress, Kindergarten Readiness, and Literacy. You will take away from these workshops a “Passport to Kindergarten” that you can recreate within your own centers or use as a tool to support continuity of education at home.
(This is a product of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts’s Race to the Top-Early Learning Challenge grant initiative, which is managed by the Department of Early Education and Care in partnership with Boston Children’s Museum.)
Kindergarten Readiness
This Professional Learning Community (PLC) will focus on the skills children need in order to be ready for kindergarten. Through this workshop, educators will explore and discuss how everyday play experiences support a child’s readiness for school. A variety of hands-on activities will be used to allow educators the opportunity to connect play experiences with school readiness skills.
EEC Training Hours: 2 (this is not a CEU Training)
Core Competency Alignment: Area 5: Learning Environments and Curriculum
This training is funded in part by the Department of Early Education and Care
and sponsored by the Southeast Education Professionals Partnership
