Bring your faith to the table, and join Lutherans from around the state for worship, learning, advocacy and action. Lutheran Day at the Capitol will focus on our baptismal call to ministry in the public square and the unique voice of Lutheran Christians addressing hunger and poverty. The day will include worship, a keynote address, legislative briefing and visit training, workshops, a continental breakfast and lunch. Come to be inspired, prepared and equipped to act on issues that matter.

6:00 - 8:30 p.m. Open Table: From Poverty to Community ministry training with Open Table founder Jon Katov. Sponsored by Glade Run Lutheran Services. $15.00 fee includes dinner. Read more about this accompaniment model that trains congregations to restore impoverished families and neighborhoods. Location: Trinity, Camp Hill.

Luthe ran Day at the Capital is being held in conjunction with the Spring 2015 Academy Week of Gettysburg Seminary. Spring Academy on the Seminary campus will focus on homec omings: military service, incarcerated persons and overseas missionaries. This topic will be explored through speakers, discussions, Preaching Perspectives presentations and a Glocal Mission Gathering. Location: Lutheran Day will be held at Trinity Lutheran Church, Camp Hill PA, just across the river and minutes from the State Capitol. See map at the left of the page for directions.
Capitol Visits: The agenda includes background and training for all participants to stop by their state legislators' offices to lift up common concerns on current issues. The LAMPa office will schedule sit down visits for those who wish to visit their legislators or their staff during their time at the Capitol. April 27 is currently not scheduled as a sessoin day. Shuttle bus service will transport participants between Trinity and the Capitol.Accommodations - A block of hotel rooms is being held at the Radisson Hotel Harrisburg (located in Camp Hill) until March 25 - mention LAMPa to receive a reduced rate. Logistics - Ample parking is available at Trinity. If you are coming by Amtrak please contact the LAMPa office to arrange a shuttle from the Harrisburg station. The Capitol Complex can be difficult to navigate, involving many steps and uneven floor surfaces. If you will need assistance accessing the building, or wonder if you might, please contact LAMPa staff.
Workshops - Registrants will receive a separate mailing with a detailed list of workshops and presenters along with other briefing materials.
Open Table Sunday Evening Pre-Event: Open Table is a model for addressing poverty that brings together faith communities, government, business and non-profits in a shared community model to transform poverty. Attend an optional training session on the evening before Lutheran Day, April 26th, 6:00 - 8:30, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Camp Hill. This offering is sponsored by Glade Run Lutheran Services. $15.00 covers the cost of dinner. Read more about the Open Table.
