TRAIL DESIGN/MAINTENANCE WORKSHOP: Michael Meister

This workshop will discuss the initiative to assess all 1,200 miles of trail across TN State Parks during 2017 and how the data collected will be used to improve our state wide trail system. After a short synopsis of this initiative, will look over the assessment data of Montgomery Bell State Park and then set out for a few hours to fix some issues that have been found during the assessment. These fixes could include: adjusting outslope, deberming, building rolling grade dips, fixing trail bed obstacles, etc. You will need clothes that are comfortable enough to work and hike in outdoors regardless of the weather, as well as sturdy shoes that you can hike and work in. Don't forget anything else you may need such as sunscreen, bug spray and water.
