Spring 2017 Building Mentoring Skills Program

The Building Mentoring Skills for an Academic Career Certificate Program will be held at Cornell on five spring Tuesdays from 12:00-2:00 pm. Sponsored by Cornell University's CIRTL program, it is based on a highly regarded national curriculum.

Prepare to be a great supervisor to your summer research students and/or to effectively mentor graduate, undergraduate, and postdoctoral students as a future professor. Join a motivated cohort of graduate students and postdocs in Spring 2017, receive a certificate for attending and participating in at least 4 of 5 sessions (dates: 2/7, 2/21, 3/7, 3/28, 4/18).

All sessions will be in person and practical in nature and will feature short pre-readings or videos, discussion with faculty/staff panelists, and self-assessments to identify your strengths and desired areas for improvement. The location for the sessions will be sent upon acceptance into the program.

Space is limited. It will be indicated on the Registration page if the program is full, and then you should email cu-cirtl@cornell.edu to inquire about the waiting list, or fill out this form.
