Generations in the Workplace: For Newcomers: Gainesville (3/18/14) 

We’ve been hearing it for years ~ there are differences in the generations when it comes to how they perceive their work – and yours! And we know it’s true, but we really just wish we could avoid the whole topic. Except…what if we had a place where we could openly discuss the differences and why they matter? What if we stopped to acknowledge weaknesses, but also celebrate and build on the strengths of each group? What if we examined our common values? What if…we opened the lines of communication?

This Generations in the Workplace training will consist of two half-day workshops, one for Newcomers and one for Seasoned Employees.  You can register for one or both.

The morning (register below) for Newcomers is designed for those who are relative newcomers to the work world, possibly just straight from school or their very first job.

The afternoon (register here) for Seasoned Employees is designed for those who have been in the work world for some time – this job in the library may even be the only work environment they’ve ever experienced.

In each session, we’ll discuss loyalty, what is valued by each group, transferring knowledge, sparking enthusiasm and creativity – in other words, how to reap the good from both groups…to the benefit of the entire organization.
