Teen Services Interest Group (8/22/18)

How do we get teens to read, come to the library, or even do their homework?  Join the Teen Services Interest Group so we can all share our ideas, programs, book recommendations, etc., to make this happen together.

Our next meeting will take place on Wednesday, August 22nd, both at NEFLIN and online - something for everyone!

For those who are able to join us in person at the NEFLIN office, we will meet from 10:00 AM - 1:00 PM.  From 10:00 - 11:00, we'll have a topical discussion in conjunction with our online participants.  From 11:00 to noon, we'll have a hands-on activity, and then from noon to 1:00, we'll eat lunch together and wrap up our day.

If you cannot join us in person, please register for the online portion of this meeting from 10:00 - 11:00 AM.  We'll send you all the access info so that you can log in and be a part of the conversation.

Please Note:  Online Interest Groups work best when all participants can interact with each other.

Need a headset to make this happen?  Email jenny@neflin.org and NEFLIN will be glad to provide one for you.

Your Facilitator Is:  Robyn Doppke, City College, Gainesville Campus

I have a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of West Florida, a Minor in Art, and Master's Degree in Library and Information Studies from Florida State University.  I have been a high school librarian and a college librarian most of my career.  Currently, I am branch librarian for City College, Gainesville.  I am an avid reader. I am also an artist, and if you would like to see my work, come visit me at Melrose Marketplace on Friday evenings.  As a librarian, it is all about the "aha" moments I get from those patrons/students who get it., whether that be a research moment or from a book that just caught them off guard.  One of the best times I have had as a librarian was when I lived in Beijing, China, as an International Librarian.  It was a wonderful experience to share my love of reading, research, etc., with another culture of people.

Cost: NEFLIN Interest Groups are free of charge and are open to NEFLIN members only.  Registration is strongly encouraged.
