Makerspaces Interest Group Meeting (7/24/19)

Meeting Information

This quarter, we'll meet at NEFLIN on Wednesday, July 24th, from 10:00 am - 1:00 pm.

We will begin with a tech session: It's all about Code.org!
During this session you will learn how to set up your own account, add names to your account and learn the basics of using code.org. Laptops will be provided for a hands-on experience.

In our crafting section we will create paper succulents.
We hope to see you there!

Interest Group Facilitators: Ann Collins and Erica Davis

Ann Collins

Ann Collins is the Assistant Regional Librarian for Volusia County Public Library-Deltona Branch. She oversees the operation of the Deltona Branch Launch Pad Makerspace. She has been with the Volusia County Public Library for 3 years. Prior to this, she was the Assistant
Manager for the Dorothy Lumley Melrose Center for Technology, Innovation & Creativity at the Orange County Library System. Ann received her Master’s degree in Library and Information Science from the University of South Florida in 2008 and her Master’s degree in Liberal Studies from
Rollins College in 2002.

Erica Davis is the Makerspace Librarian at the Daytona Beach Regional Library in Volusia County. She has been with the Volusia County Library for 10 years and has experience working in the three main service areas: Circulation, Reference, and Children’s. Erica has many years of experience in programing for all ages and now is in charge of creating and coordinating all activities within the makerspace. She is excited to share her experiences and expertise with the makerspace interest group and would love to teach you how to use these gadgets with hands-on learning sessions.

Cost: NEFLIN Interest Groups are free of charge and are open to NEFLIN members only. Registration is strongly encouraged.
