Transformational Leadership Through Storytelling - NEFLIN (02/21/20)

“Transformational leadership refers to the process whereby an individual engages with others and creates a connection that raises the level of motivation and morality in both
the leader and the follower” ~ Peter Northouse

This 6 hour interactive workshop facilitated by multi-facted artist Barbara Colaciello geared for current and prospective leaders within the library system is designed to hone communication skills demonstrating how to lead, collaborate, and inspire with confidence, skill, and passion.

Employing improvisation games, and reflective writing participants will learn how to shape and make meaningful stories to help enact and manage the organizational learning process.

The workshop will focus on:

  • self-awareness, and emotional intelligence
  • flexibility, adaptability, and a willingness to accept and manage change
  • tapping into intuitive responses leading to creative planning
  • team building and collaboration

Transformational leaders are able to articulate their vision and motivate their team through the power of storytelling. They provide a tool that helps individuals and organizations make sense of their daily routines and accomplish goals.

A 2013 TEDxJacksonville Speaker, Barbara has led professional development leadership workshops for a diverse range of organizations: Duval County Public Schools System; Cathedral Arts Program; Vistakon, Jacksonville Headquarters; City Year; Cultural Council of Jacksonville; and JASMYN.
