Track Descriptions:
Hot Topics: This track includes workshops that address high profile and immediately relevant issues that many Ohio communities are working to combat. Previous workshops included the opioid crisis, mental health, human trafficking, addiction and more.
Core Essentials: This track includes workshops that cover common workplace topics to provide a basic understanding or refresher for entry-level or senior staff. Workshops such as diversity, emotional intelligence, and Bridges Out of Poverty have been offered as part of the Foundation Level Seminar Series as core essential workshops.
PR/Communications: This track includes workshops covering basic and advanced level public relations and communications topics to build capacity, enhance best practices, and research tools for community and internal outreach. Past workshops have included branding, social media, crisis communications, and more.
Fiscal/HR: For many of our member agencies, Fiscal and Human Resources responsibilities are the responsibility of the same staff member and/or have significant crossover, thus the motivation for combining the areas. This track includes workshops covering pressing issues currently impacting both departments throughout the network. Previous workshops include UGG Regulation changes, Financial Reporting changes, Risk Management, DOL changes, Exempt vs. Nonexempt, and more.
Opioids: The opioids track includes workshops by experts currently fighting the opioid epidemic in Ohio.
Head Start: The Head Start track includes workshops relevant to Head Start teachers, administrators, planners, and more.
PRE-CONFERNECE Tuesday, January 23rd
GMS Regional Training: This full day training event will provide a complete overview of the GMS Accounting System. Attendees will see all aspects of the accounting system from setup files to processing steps and reporting options. All of the books of entry, accounts payable processing, payroll processing, general ledger activities, cost allocation and report generation will be shown.
