VTASCE Tour S. Burlington City Hall - May 5

Join us May 5, 2022 at 5 pm for a site tour of South Burlington Public Library and City Hall.  We will follow the tour with an informal social gathering at the Upper Deck at the Windjammer.

The South Burlington Public Library and City Hall opened to the public in 2021.  Featuring a variety of green and energy efficient measures, it is one of the most air-tight public buildings in Vermont.  With approximately fifty thousand feet situated on 0.67 acres, bringing the project to break ground involved  obtaining rights across four properties and creative approaches.  Learn about the project’s challenges and successes on a one hour tour of the site and the City’s new library, senior center and city hall.

Tour guides will include the leaders for the project including:

Steve Roy, LEED AP BD + C,  principal architect on the project, is the Vice-President of Wiemann Lamphere Architects (Colchester).  He leads the building architectural design team with a focus on sustainable and environmentally-friendly design.

Paul Boisvert, PE, civil engineer on the project is a senior engineer and principal at Engineering Ventures, PC (Burlington).  His focus is on site redevelopment and urban infill, with a special interest in stormwater issues and sustainable design.

Ilona Blachard, AICP, project manager for the City, Community Development Director at the City of South Burlington.  Ilona led the project for the City, resulting in a completed project that the citizens can be proud of.
