Please join us for a trail cleanup event from Saturday June 5 8 am - 2 pm. The plan is to meet at the Buffalo Creek Trailhead adjacent to the Meadows Group Campground to park and then hike in with our equipment to do some trail maintenance work. Mainly focusing on clearing plants from the trail way, cleaning out culverts, and building check dams for erosion control. If you don't know much about trail maintenance don't worry - I will be giving a short lesson on trail maintenance at the beginning of the morning. If you are interested in joining please RSVP and fill out this waiver: https://coloradotrail.org/volunteer/adopt-a-trail/forms-for-adopters/adopter-waiver-and-release/

What to Bring:
Raincoat for inclement weather
Sturdy clothing
Sturdy hiking shoes or boots
Water
Lunch - please make this portable as we will be hiking to our location
Work Gloves (we will be using shovels, tree loppers, mcclouds and pickaxes - these will protect your hands).
Hard Hat - if you don’t have your own we have extras in the volunteer shed - so let me know if you need one.
Phone that has GPS capabilities (I'd suggest downloading this area on google maps or a similar app) - to help determine your location on the trail. I will also bring printed black and white trail maps for reference.
Trash bag (for picking up any trash we see, taking trash from through hikers to lighten their load on the trail, and packing out your own trash)
Feel free to bring any pet if you have one - just make sure it's leashed and you understand the forest service policies https://www.fs.usda.gov/Internet/FSE_DOCUMENTS/fseprd486905.pdf.
