2019 Groundwater Basics Workshop

Skagit County Public Utility District Headquarters in Mt Vernon, WA

This workshop will cover the bascis of where groundwater is, how to bring it to the surface and how to treat it, and will include presentations, case studies and interactive discussions.  Topics covered include:

  • Groundwater - What is it and where do you find it?
  • Drilling and Well Construction
  • Well Pumps
  • Well Maintenance
  • Wellhead Protection Plans
  • Groundwater Treatment
  • Disinfection Alternatives
  • Filtering
  • Testing and Sampling
  • Case Studies

  • Ben Scrace - Whitney Equipment Company

EARN CONTINUING EDUCATION UNITS!  - 0.6 CEUs (Water CEUs applied for)

Cost is $70 per attendee for individual or utility members of AWWA, WEF or PNCWA  - $90 after Wednesday October 9th

$95 per attendee for non-members of AWWA, WEF or PNCWA - $115 after Wednesday October 9th

Fee includes lunch and refreshments

Small System Operators and Student Scholarships - To encourage participation from small utilities (less than 500 connections) and from college, university and technical program students, the Northwest Washington Subsection will pay workshop registration fees for 2 AWWA member operators from small utilities and any student.  To be eligible for a small systems scholarship please register and pay for the workshop and on the registration form indicate the number of connections for your utility.  If your registration is one of the first two received, your registration fee will be refunded following completion of the workshop.  First Come - First Served.  

To be eligible for a student scholarship please list your institution, click "pay by check" and phone or email the contact in the upper left column for further information.

Cancellation Policy - If a registrant is unable to attend the event and a substitute within the organization can attend, please contact Jeff Lundt at jeff.lundt@kingcounty.gov to update information.  If unable to attend or send a substitute contact the above at least one week before the event for a refund (minus a $10 processing fee).  Refunds after that time will not be given.

If the workshop is cancelled due to lack of registration or another reason, full refunds will be provided.
