2019 Youth Development and Mentoring Symposium
The symposium is designed to increase and reinforce the knowledge and skills needed by youth development workers in Montgomery County. This event features presentations and workshops led by youth development academic, educational, and social justice experts. Three distinguished leaders will receive the Collaboration Council's awards for their work supporting women, youth, and girls in the county.

Tuesday,May 14
Opening Keynote Speaker: Fausto Lopez, a nationally recognized speaker at American Institute for Research, will present the most up-to-date research and practices in the out of school time and youth development fields. Mr. Lopez's expertise is in the areas of school based expanded learning, restorative practices, social emotional learning, positive youth development, and youth participatory action research.
Workshop Topics, including:
- Introduction to Stress Management for Human Service Professional
- Introduction to Teaching Mindfulness to Teens
- Cultivating Wellness amoung Girls of Color
- Understanding, Addressing, and Leveraging Generational Differences in Youth Development Organizations
