July 2017 Chapter Meeting

Join your colleagues at our Juy chapter meeting.

Topic: Leadership and Management for Business Analysts
Both leadership and management are skill sets that are valuable for business analysts to acquire and improve upon. As a BA, you must manage your requirements and your meetings, and you are seen as a leader on your projects. We'll talk about both skill sets and how you can improve upon each of them in your role as a Business Analyst. As part of this discussion we will also discuss fair process. You can build trust and commitment with people by using the three elements of fair process: engagement, explanation, and expectation clarity. The merit of ideas, and not consensus, is ultimately what drives decision making with the process of fair process. We'll talk about how business analysts can use fair process in situations where they lead decision making and strive to gain commitment.
