IESS - AWWA GIS Basics 

with Chris Yake, J-U-B Engineers

Geographic Information Systems have taken over traditional mapping techniques. Understanding fully how to best use this data leads to better decision making for maintenance and administration without lifting a shovel. 

This class will have hands on interaction with the following using various programs brought by attendees: 

  • applying basemaps
  • setting up attribute fields/schema
  • importing existing data
  • collecting new information
  • edititing spatial and attribute data
  • snapping to features to create connectivity
  • colorcoding infrastructure
  • overview of publishing interactive online maps

Plus tips and hands on exercises to fully understand your GIS system and how it can work harder and do more for you.  

$105 for AWWA member, $145 for non AWWA.
