The SCC invites you to participate in a one-day training session on Quality and Performance Improvement for Ambulatory Care Staff. The training is sponsored by the Greater New York Hospital Association (GNYHA), and is funded by the New York State Department of Health’s Health Workforce Retraining Initiative.
About the Training
The training will be rooted in the Institute for Healthcare Improvement (IHI) Model for Improvement and adapted for the ambulatory care setting. Each session will lecture/didactics and interactive learning activities. The SCC will identify improvement opportunities related to the Delivery System Reform Incentive Payment (DSRIP) program performance metrics and during the training attendees will create improvement plans for their identified opportunities. Participants will receive a Certificate of Training.
Who Should Attend?
Training is open to all staff in the ambulatory care setting, including front desk, medical assistants, nurses, social workers, nurse practitioners and physicians. Up to two team members from an organization may attend. A diverse representation of practice roles supports development of a team based approach in addressing challenges related to workflows and overall PI. Practice managers, administrators, and nursing and physician leaders are encouraged to attend as part of the teams. If your organization has more than two team members who you would like to attend please contact Anne Barret, Director for Workforce & Communications at the Suffolk Care Collaborative via email at Anne.Barrett@stonybrookmedicine.edu. If space is available we will offer additional seats to partner organizations. Attendance is capped at 60 attendees per session.
