All members play and participate at their own risk, and should review and adhere to local, state and government advisories.
2021 LONE STAR CUP
Team Match Play Tournament
New(er) members encouraged to tryout! Match Play format is a great way for higher index players to equalize the matches.
NOTE: YOU MUST HAVE AN ESTABLISHED HANDICAP AND BE A CURRENT DALLAS CHAPTER MEMBER TO PARTICIPATE
Higher the handicap the more "pops" or strokes you get per hole.
Lots of activities between golf rounds! You'll get to know your team players and other chapter members, too! It's so much FUN!!
WHAT IS THE LONE STAR CUP?
The Lone Star Cup (LSC) is a match play tournament among the LPGA Amateur Golf Association chapters from Texas, Louisiana, Arkansas, Oklahoma and New Mexico. The LSC tournament is a two-day event modeled after the Solheim Cup. Day 1 of the tournament is team match play (four-ball or alternate shots) while Day 2 is singles match play. This tournament travels between chapters and this year we are being hosted by the Houston Chapter. The tournament will be held September 25 & 26 at the Golf Club of Houston. The Dallas LSC Team will have 12 players and 2 alternates.
LONE STAR CUP INFO:
9/25 and 9/26 tournament days - 8:00 am shotguns each day
Golf Club of Houston (the Shell Open Course)
Fee: less than $290+ tax (this is great pricing for all that's included and on a PGA tournament course!)
The tournament fee includes the following:
Team Practice 9/24 shotgun start at 12:30 or 1:00 pm to allow ladies to travel that morning for $99 (regular price $125 and not included in $290). If we wish to practice another time, we must schedule on our own.
Fun Play - getting pricing to offer option at Golf Club of Houston but also at two nice nearby courses.
Lodging, travel and team uniform details provided later.
Saturday afternoon/evening gathering at Houston member's house near the course - nice outdoor area with pool. Also, planning on having a friend's restaurant food truck provide food (at player's cost). This part sounds REALLY fun and will allow all the chapters to mingle, swim, drink, play LRC, etc. in one spot together!!
If you are a dual member and qualify for Fort Worth LSC team you may NOT sign up for the Dallas LSC team. If you cannot commit to the required time to practice as a team and travel to Houston, please do not sign up.
No money due at this time. Sign Up for Try-Outs by May 31
